I have been on a certain dose of seroquel and zypine for a while now, but it seems every month or so my meds begin to cease working and my dosage is inceased. I am now at that state again where anxiety attacks are re-occuring and my nightmares have me screaming in my sleep......again. I will be seeing my Dr tomorrow but I am just worried it wil be increased again. I suffer complex trauma with ptsd and DID. It is really making me feel like I will forever be a sufferer. Can anyone else relate to this?

@billie Sorry for what you are going through. Yes, I am going through the same thing. I have been on Paroxetine for 4 months and my dose was increased 1.5 month ago but my symptoms are not going away. I am not feeling any better, nightmares, anxiety, crying spells, sad mood and even think of suicide on almost every other day.

I hope things turn out better for you soon. :hug:s

@billie :hug:s. No, we shouldn't be thinking about suicide seriously but it sucks when these temporary solutions fail to help our permanent problems. I am going to see my GP tomorrow and find out what is going on.

My meds ended up making a huge difference for me. Ofcourse that was for bipolar, but with that disorder it's impossible to make progress on anything else. There is hope yet...

What do you mean by impossible to make progress on anything else? Do you mean that the bipolar has to be evened out first before PTSD can be treated? I want to understand what you said, not to be rude I just need clarification. Maybe it's my dyslexia, sorry.

In response to this post in general, I can't stand how many chemicals I have to put into my body sometimes, at one point I took 6 pills a day with ever increasing doses. It really frightens me for my long term health.

Now that I am on a different course of treatment I am trying to supplement with natural things; like finding out what types of vitamins or minerals help my body absorb or utilize the medications. When I took seroquel to help me sleep and even me out I bit it in half (it was regular release, not extended release) and I feel asleep instead of being awake till 4 am and taking more and more.

So what do guys think, I guess it's the chiken or the egg, do you have to treat other mental health problems first to get to PTSD or the PTSD first, like the other stuff are symptoms.

Yeah I am just confused its hard to guess as I have regular therapy and meds. I am just tired of waking up screaming.

I wish I had a drug that would ease the anxiety I have upon waking in the morning. Some days it's so intense I am suicidal until I take a Xanax at noon. Does prazozin help with that? My psychiatrist offered it to me but I was not interested at the time. I also wake bolt upright most nights. I take sonata for sleep now don't know why I even bother with it it doesn't keep me asleep. Does the prazozin help anxiety?

When I was put on clonazapam it help my jumpiness and hyper vigilance so much. I think if you need meds to help alleviate your severe symptoms there is nothing wrong with that.
