I gave up all processed foods as well as almost all animal products (I still use honey in my tea and will occasionally have a slice or two of veggie pizza or a cup of coffee w/ cream and sugar when away from home).
It took over a year to detox from it all but the results are well worth it. I also take supplements: B vitamin complex, Fish Oil, Calcium-Magnesium, Vitamin D, and eat organic, whole foods as much as possible.
Various nuts, seeds, green tea, Apple Cider Vinegar and Cinnamon also help.
