- Ditto on Vicks exactly as Jar says. Also... Oddly... Putting it on your feet under socks helps a lot of people, and less oddly... You're chest. Vicks also makes nasal inhalers.
- Chinese mustard or Wasabi helps some people, too. Eating it. Doesn't touch me, grew up on it, but I know a lot of people who suddenly start gushing mucus like they've just run into CS gas.
Hmmm... Wonder if CS gas is contraindicated? :cautious:

Somewhat more medical & most you probably know anyway, if so, disregard.
- Ibuprofen reduces inflammation. The tissues get swollen in addition to all the mucus plugging things up. Personally, I take 800mg ibuprofen & 1000mg Tylenol (together) as they have different modes of action and are safe for people without complicating medical issues (liver & stomach usually, but there are others). So check with your doc unless you know for sure you're gtg.
- Your doc can give you albuterol if that doesn't mess with your system. I'm prone to pneumonia, so have my own Rx, but I'll also snort the sucker. Either through the spacer, or jury rig your own spacer. It's too cold at that distance & will damage nasal mucosa unless there's at least a few inches to warm, first. OMFG. I can breathe through my nose, again!
- Antibiotics for secondary infections. My personal fav is Zithromax. Die bloody bacteria, die.
- Positiinal drainage & massage. (Facial & neck massage can get fluids moving. Not a lot, usually, although sometimes just enough to clear out of the way space for the rest to drain, but I've come damn close to plugging in the dremmal, and I have stuck stents up my nose. Lol. My nose has been broken so many damn times it closes off too easy.)
- McDonalds. Antibodies are almost pure fat with just a hint of protein thrown in for structure. Also our digestive systems turn off almost entirely when we're sick. So anything we consume needs to be all but pre digested. Like soup. Cough. Or McDonalds. But Mickey D's has much higher fat content, and it almost as broken down / easy to digest. Avoid anything that's 'healthy' when you're sick (low nutritional value, high fiber, low cal... Makes your body work too hard, or it doesn't even try). What's healthy goes in reverse. You want that worthless white bread almost pure glucose for your brain, fats for manufacturing antibodies, and super processed / broken down proteins. Aka: burger fries & soda.
- Rest & fluids. Drink like you're in the desert. If you're not taking a piss once an hour, or it's yellow, you're not hydrated enough.
