New Here
Hello fellow sufferers, my story.... joined British army at 17, spent nearly 10 years as a paratrooper. think that was the beginning of amygdala becoming overactive.
left the army and emigrated to the US to marry and become a paramedic. As I'm sure you can imagine I have ended up with a PTSD diagnosis. Trying to find my way, therapy for over 2 years now meds, and now trying ketamine treatment.

Doubt you could land in a better forum. I cope much better since I joined here. So much help with the day to day stuff plus people here just get it.

One of the first things someone recommended that reallly really helped was this:

Aloha! Hola! Benvenuto! Welcome :)

USMC, Contracting, Disaster Reaponse here. Plus a few other things. Also enlisted at 17. Felt truly alive!!! 🤩for the first time in my life, the moment the rubber hit the road, and training shifted into the real / my first actual time in the field. I’ve often wondered if it’s that moment, more than any other, predicted what was to follow.

If you read nothing else on this site? DO read this >>> The ptsd cup explanation

It’s just so damn useful. From day 1. And in year 20.

Again, welcome.

Welcome :) The forum has been unbelievably helpful for my PTSD treatment. I hope it's the same for you.

Is the ketamine treatment working? It's been recommended to me a few times, but the whole idea of it freaks me out
I think yes its helping. i feel a sense of detachment during the treatment and very relaxed.
