Hello... I Was Raped 7 Years Ago

I was 14. It was in a public place, and I said "no" once but then I couldn't speak. It was my first time, and I didn't tell anyone for the longest time. I just moved to graduate school, but before I left I told my therapist about it, and now it seems like it just happened.

You are not alone here, quite a few of us can relate to what you are saying. You took a great step by joining the forum. :)

I suggest you find another therapist at your school that can help you so your trauma does not keep ruling your life.

Hi Susan. I was actually posting on this site because I am in love with a veteran who has ptsd but came across your post. Rape is very hard I was raped a month before my 15th birthday and my oldest son who I love dearly is a product of that rape. I am almost 40 now and I did not tell anyone (except for my exhusband when I was 30) until about 6 years when my rapist was convicted of his 4th rape. I too was in therapy and still need it really. Sometimes I relive it like it was yesterday sometimes I go years barely thinking about it. It does not matter if you said no once or ten times if your not willing it is always rape. I like to say I am trying to fill a void someone stole something from me and I just keep trying to fill a void. Sometimes I shop, sometimes I cry, sometimes I wanna be alone and oh geeez can I clean but I have not figured out how to fill that void but I have learned to cope and a good therapist can get you there. Do not give up! If one therapist does not work move to the next but do give them a couple months to see if there is a change before you do:) You are not alone in this!
