Hello, jrod,
I too am an OIF combat vet. I can fully relate. You took the right first step. Meds aren't the only thing that helps. Sometimes just talking to people who are non objective and who don't know you really helps. The first thing is to be honest with yourself. That is one step I'm still trying very hard to complete. It is hard for me to be honest with my wife.
I was always ready for something bad to happen. I even had dreams of me loosing limbs, but they were just dreams. Too many close calls to count. There were many angels out there keeping me and my soldiers alive. For me it was 5 years ago, but I live the time over there over and over again.
Good luck brother.
