New Here
newbie to this site. I was looking for help. family was asked to write "buddy letter" for me...MST,PTSD, anxiety etc etc etc. the thought of them doing that is creeping me out and giving me grief. they don't even know

Hi there. :) I’m sorry to hear you are struggling with this. I’m fairly new myself and not sure I know what a “buddy letter” is?

Another wanting more details of this , and how it was arranged.

It sounds like something well intentioned that is in fact ignoring your right to privacy and boundaries. At worst it could be manipulative in the extreme.

Is this for your therapist or benefit claim? My guy had to get a couple himself. He just asked them to write what they remembered about the "event". Some of their statements were already on record. You sound pretty nervous. Could your therapist help you with how to word things for your "buddies" or write a generic letter you can send to them? You dont have to tell them about your struggles. Right?

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome. I like to learn what is a buddy letter also. Who are they suppose to write to?

Maybe this is a form of communication that is less emotionally intense? Family can write some huhu stuff so I would be creeped out too. (Sorry i started saying huhu after seeing a post in photo thread of huhu beatle).

Sounds like an alternate form to communicate?
I like to know what a buddy letter is also. Enjoy your stay ?
