So the part I find the most frustrating about my partner's PTSD is that the only time he won't acknowledge it is when it is affecting him. He admits he has it. He is aware of some of the ways that it impacts his behavior. However, when it is flaring and he is physically and emotionally withdrawn, using computer games for escapism, not sleeping well (if at all), not doing any of what he normally does around the house, and being angry at the world, he insists that he's perfectly normal and this isn't a flare. Afterwards, he'll often acknowledge it, but getting him to get help at the time is profoundly difficult. I've lived with him for 15 years, and I know what a flare looks like for him. He just stormed out to sit in the car after I told him that he needed to check on the date for his next VA appt, since he was having a hard time and he might want to talk about redialing his meds.

Ideas for getting him to reach out? I'm at my wits end.
