New Here
I'm so glad I found this forum and I'm looking forward to getting to know new people :)
I was diagnosed with PTSD last year, and I really didn't know much about it.
Here's the long story short about me.
I sufferered sexual abuse off my father's friends from the age if 5 - 16, then unfortunately ended up in a domestic abuse relationship whilst hospilitised me several times before escaping by entering the sex industry... which (with the help of my new boyfriend) I've left very recently.
I don't really talk about these things, but I've spoken about them briefly to my partner.

Has anybody experienced anything similar? I know it is known for sex workers to develop PTSD (I believe this was the cherry on top of the cake and what I suffer most with)... itd be nice to find someone who would like to talk who maybe understands that side of it too xx

Welcome, glad you found this place too... lots of respect for your introduction, letting us know why you are here and what you need. this is a very healing place when we let it be...

Just read around the threads and see what you relate to, glad you are here !!

I would imagine sex work could be a way to try and gain some mastery over sexual abuse. My therapist would call it a reinactment. But also I think sex work could be considered a job but that job could lead to abuse but I don’t think it’s necessarily all bad.

So that’s my answer
