New Here
I am about to leave active duty in about five months. I have been officially diagnosed with PTSD by the base psychiatrist. Got back from deployment almost a year now and just officially got the diagnosis a few weeks ago. I am on the edge of a precipice and am still numb to all things. I have been malingering around this website without joining for about a month or so reading other peoples posts. I am starting prolonged exposure therapy coupled with meds and I am fearful of what awaits me. So I figured this place would be a good place to start.

This is my introduction. Thanks.

welcome! Devil Doc here, 2nd MarDiv, FMF... ya its kinda messed up when they tell you that you have something like this... thing is we all have it so you are some good company. Got people from all walks of military life. Lots of good advice here... now that you registered you can see the members only area, that is where the real stuff gets said..

It's not the end of the world if you take care of yourself, try to stick with the care plan the doc and you come up with... and above all dont give up... hope you stick around! feel free to ask questions, you will find your niche here and learn who you can identify with...

Semper Fi!

Thanks, I am on Lejeune or Lejern (still looking for the R in Lejeune and havent found it yet LOL). Marine joke. Part of me just wants to get the hell away from this base, all the artillery and gunfire, being around it all just keeps me stuck. But i know there is good support here too. This whole thing sucks. Glad your all here.

thats here I was before we shipped to Jacksonville for deployment.... did 22nd MAU and 26th MEU(SOC) back in the stone age... good luck... and ya dissasociating yourself from that area will probably be healthy for you...

Hey DMH

I did ITR at Lejeune a lot of year ago. You're in a transition state now, which makes it all more difficult as well. I did PE therapy a while back, got a post here somewhere, may be good to check it out. It was hard but it helped.

Oh, and Welcome to the site, glad you made it back.

JarHed - not as lean, still as mean always a Marine. Gettin' to like this.
