New Here
My name is Vincent. I am a 29 year old male from New York and I suffer from just about every single forum of anxiety you can think of. Mainly panic attacks and hypochondria but I also dabble in OCD, general anxiety, and show all the classic signs of IBS-D. I'm here because I'm getting alot worse and I need someone to talk to and try to convince me that everything is ok.

It doesnt sound like everything is ok, but it can become ok do. One step at the time. This is a good place and ahelpful place. >For me its my safe place and I wouldnt know what to do without it.

Welcome and blessing to you.

Hello Vincent. Welcome to you!
I hope that being here can help you to not just find people who can bring calm and peace, but also to journey towards being able to take control of your own anxiety and your own life. :)

Yes that would be wonderful. My anxiety has really peaked over the past week or so ( as I posted in the panic attack section) hopefully we can get to the bottom of it together

Hi Vincent.

I'm afraid that since you don't have PTSD, but other mental health issues, that anything I might tell you could be bad advice, to straight up harmful to you, as different disorders are treated in different ways... As what's causing shared symptoms is coming from different places.

People waste years of their lives attempting to treat the wrong disorder, and getting nowhere, or making shit worse for themselves, because of it. On a personal level, I have 2 disorders (ADHD + PTSD) and while there's some symptom crossover? If I mistake where a symptom is coming from, I seriously f*ck myself up and make it worse. And that's actually having both disorders in my head. You don't even want to know how bad things get if I start using tools from different disorders I don't have. I would very strongly recommend that you seek treatment for your OCD & GAD, and look into a neurology appointment to find out if your bad trip caused some brain damage, as there are specific therapies for drug induced symptoms to rewire the portion of the brain that's been damaged or affected by chemical exposure. (From having read your other thread, as well.)

Disturbance is not due to medication, substance use, or other illness.

Hi Vincent,
Welcome to the forum. Do you have a therapist who is helping you find ways to deal with all of this? Although the forum is great, real-life help is invaluable. I don't think we can convince you that everything is OK when your brain is telling you something different. You need to learn to be able to tell yourself that you are safe and everything will be ok. When you can do that - even sometimes - you will have more of a sense of control.

It's great you are seeking help. It's complicated but you can get through it. You sound ready to move on and figure the correct way to do it. It will take a lot of you and some time but the quicker start, you will feel some relief.
