Hey,

I can't remember if I posted an intro or not and still checking how to navigate the site since a bit changed since I registered, so there.

I'm Kaishi, vet of a few paramilitary units, currently settled in a different country than my home / trying to make it a new home, and mostly having a hard time socializing with civvies, plus language barrier is still bit of an issue even tho I've found some friends. ;/

I'm not really sure how much that kind of background 'counts' because I don't have 'proper' ID to point to or stuff, but, well, glad to be around.

(Genderqueer chick, so mostly cool with whatever, pronouns wise. I don't take offense to be 'one of the guys', ever.)

Glad to have ya. I have been AWOL from the forums for quite a while and this is my first day back. So guess we'll start over about the same time.

Kaishi,

I'm at a loss as to whether the paramilitary part is O.K., but you should have some sort of diagnosis of PTSD. It doesn't have to be a military or "VA" diagnosis, just some doctor or therapist. Someone higher up the food chain will have to make that call. Just cool it for now until it gets cleared.

Hey Arwarfighter, hope introductions go cool for you, sorry you're in need of the forum.

Sarg, I do have the diagnosis - sorry forgot to add that bit, I just wasn't sure if this is forum specifically for army vets with PTSD or if people of other sort of military with the same diagnosis / issues are welcome as well.

You lot never heard of Google or Wikipedia :p

Genderqueer
(GQ; alternatively non-binary) is a catch-all category for gender identities other than man and woman, thus outside of the gender binary andcisnormativity.[1] Genderqueer people may identify as one or more of the following:

  • having an overlap of, or indefinite lines between, gender identity and sexual and romantic orientation.[2]
  • two or more genders (bigender, trigender, pangender);
  • without a gender (nongendered, genderless, agender; neutrois);
  • moving between genders or with a fluctuating gender identity (genderfluid);[3]
  • third gender or other-gendered; includes those who do not place a name to their gender;[4]
Some genderqueer people[5][6] also desire physical modification or hormones to suit their preferred expression. Many genderqueer people see gender and sex as separable aspects of a person and sometimes identify as a male woman, a female man, or a male/female/intersex genderqueer person.[7] Gender identity is defined as one's internal sense of being a woman, man, both, or neither, while sexual orientation refers to an individual's enduring physical, romantic, and/or emotional attraction to others.[6] As such, genderqueer people may have a variety of sexual orientations, as with transgender and cisgender people.[8]

In addition to being an umbrella term, genderqueer has been used as an adjective to refer to any people who transgress distinctions of gender, regardless of their self-defined gender identity, i.e. those who "queer" gender, expressing it non-normatively.[9] Androgynous is frequently used as a descriptive term for people in this category, though genderqueer people may express a combination of masculinity and femininity, or neither, in their gender expression and not all identify as androgynous. However, the term has been applied by those describing what they see as a gender ambiguity.[10]
