Hi everyone

I haven't been here for ages again....

The court case stuff was settled a few months back and we didnt have to worry about having no money even for food.... Not a huge payout - just enough to not worry about the bills for a while.

Hubby also invested in a new car - his old van was another reminder to the accident as it was painful to drive

I really thought we had turned a corner.....

Excited about a car, less financial worries.... no solicitors etc to deal with.....

And it kind of was for a while.

And now - he doesn't know why but he is suicidal...

Several bad flashbacks in difficult places - such as going out for an Xmas meal with some photography friends

He has wanted to come off of the anti depressants for ages - they make him sleepy, no feelings, no drive, feeling fuzzy, maybe they are coming out of his system now and maybe we will have to live with the side effects although I have never seen an improvement while on the anti depressants...

Anyway I wanted to say hi to you all and really hope you are all doing well - well the best we possibly can.

And if anyone has any feedback about coming off of anti depressants please let me know.

Much love Sunshine x

Hi Sunshine

Great to hear whatever your case was that it got resolved!!!! I hate legal battles.

Sorry I can't comment on the meds. But wishing you both the best this holiday and hope you find a solution soon!

Just to let you know that 5HTP is supposed to be helpful when coming off of anti depressants - I have got some here and we have both just started to take this... keeping everything crossed for anything that may help even a little bit....

Good thing is hubby has even been to the gym in the past few days too - I really hope he keeps it up :O)

Hi Sunshine,
I was on antidepressants for a few months earlier this year. I did not want to take them and argued in the first place that I did not need them. I took them simply to keep the doctors happy. I did not like the way they made me feel - yes, like living in a fog.

After I while I decided to take control and wean myself off them. I was nervous because a cousin of mine had a hard time with withdrawals, however I had no such problems. I halved the dose for a week, then halved again for a second week, then stopped. I appreciate I had not been taking them for very long and perhaps it is more difficult the longer you take them. But I had read so much about how difficult it can be that I was quite frightened - although determined!

I know antidepressants can be incredibly helpful for some people. A life-saver even. However I do worry about how many people with emotional / mental difficulties are given them when they are distressed rather than depressed.

Thats amazing to hear Lucycat and I really hope helps others too.... I didnt realise that my hubby was depressed too to be honest - I thought the PTSD was the worst part but I feel now depression is playing a bigger role :O(

I read the side effects and think of the billions being made by huge companies and just wonder if they are the answer? They must help some people as you say......

I have never seen any improvement for my hubby....

Wishing you love and luck Sunshine xx
