Hi Montner,

Welcome and I think you will find there is a lot of great information here. It is critical to get a professional diagnosis, because the sooner you know what is wrong, the sooner you can start to get better.

There is a great article [DLMURL]http://www.ptsdforum.org/c/threads/self-diagnosis-is-not-an-option.13882/[/DLMURL] addressing the need for professional diagnosis.

Take care.
Debbie

Hi Montner, and Welcome!

I have recently joined this site for much the same reasons as you, and it has been extreamly helpful. The members here share experiences and information in a truly supportive way, and I have been able to slowly start to educate myself about PTSD. My own diagnosis is "tentative" at the moment, with my focus being on managing my symptoms, and there has been much here to help me with that. If I end up with an "official" diagnosis of PTSD, or it ends up being something else, or multiple diagnosis, the work I have been able to do on my self managment and self care due to the content on this site has been really positive and beneficial, regardess of diagnosis. But, like Debbie, I would suggest that you do need a professional diagnosis for PTSD, and be a part of this community to assist you with your situation.

Wishing you well, 11Degrees.
