I was in a disfiguring car accident in 1995. I have never confronted this properly and it has ruined my life. I have come here for self examination and also as a warning to others to not fall into the same trap of self pity. I am alive inside.

Hi I came here recently after I was hospitalized, months later I was diagnosed with PTSD but the problems were much more and I had and still have a great deal to learn, this is a great place really, sorry that nobody responded sooner.

There are a lot of good reads here and people who can relate. Some are pretty sensitive at times and only want to observe... including me, but we all post, so dont give up on us. Welcome to the ptsd forum.

If it helps this site was down due to maintenance for several hours and probably that is why nobody could respond to your post.

Unfortunately we had major problems with the forum in the last 24 hours, we were all off line for quite a while. It has been a bit of an issue for some and we are just catching up with everything again.

Every once in a while the barriers I encounter on a daily basis land me in a trap of frustration, anger, and fear. That on top of a history of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse from early on brought me onto the path of complex PTSD. My PTSD was also car accident related although I was not disfigured - well on the outside. There is great information here. One of the comforts for me finding the forum was that people here understood and were having similar symptoms to me, I was no longer alone.
