My very first reach in to the world of both internet chat and community.

I was just diagnosed with PTSD in March this year. Recently got disappointing news that the C.B.T I've been awaiting is not being funded .So it looks like I'm gonna need a bit of wise advice from " them as know".

Been burning the midnight oil 2 much ...again.

Omg a reason to delay the where should I sleep issue. (settee, cupboard or bite the bullet and go to bed.) Poor hubby he thinks I'm nuts.

My stress levels are through the roof! Your member name suggests you burn a lot of midnight oil as well.

Thanks your message cheered me.

Welcome to the Forum! So you are from Ireland? I love the Irish! I enjoy listening to different accents, and the Irish brogue is one of my favorites. There is a lot to read here, don't be afraid to look around.

Blessings to you.

Welcome to the board.
I have a good friend that lives in Belfast. We have been friends since we were 13 and 15 and we sill keep in touch. I haven't seen him since 1977 though. I sent him an anniversary card recently for our 40fh year of our friendship. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome Angelkeeper J I'm having a really hard time navigating this site for sure. First attempt at communicating got me told off and edited. I cried for a while because it seemed the state of my grammar took presidence .Then I realised that I was being too sensitive. I've certainly survived worse. Reckon it may happen again, though not by design. I just get so tense and and my fingers and brain don't want to work together.

I have a N. Irish accent not so sweet and lilting as the southern accent but its mine and I'm proud of it.To an untrained ear it would sound rather like the Belfast accent but Belfast is some 30 miles from me; and in local terms thats a long way away.

What accent do you have?

I have a crazy Canuck accent.
Canuck is slang for Canadian. :)
My friend from Belfast has a real thick Irish accent.

I think that's a wonderful attitude! :)

Don't worry about the correction to your post. Its very normal when you first get here to get a few..."Please Don't do that..." emails. I know I did, has I learned the ropes of this place. :)

Hi Sandra

Its always so good to hear of long term friendships being so well maintained. So " You know the crack " as we say in Ireland. Bet your friend can tell quite a few yarns; considering the time frame you mentioned in which you met. Very few people emerged unschathed from "The Troubles". I have had my fair share of traumatic events from that period and into the 1980s.

Like most people with ptsd it seems that an early introduction to trauma sets you up for lashings of the same. That is I hope untill I demand this crazy rollercoaster stops. Thanks for introducing yourself. I've got friends up in the "Big Smoke" as well or Hellfast as one particular friend calls it.
