Hi I am Dee... I am new to having this disorder and just trying to deal with it.
I had no idea how hard it would be to have PTSD till I had to deal with it myself, I never put much thought into PTSD though I started to hear about it in the 90's.

Hi, Dee,

Welcome to this safe little area for PTSDers! You will find lots of safe people who are more than willing to listen and provide suggestions.

As for help with sleeping and avoiding bad dreams there recently was an article in one of the major American medical journals, which described a study about successfully using Prazosin to stop nightmares in PTSD sufferers. Prazosin is originally a blood pressure medication. The amount varies depending on its use. For blood pressure meds people generally use around 75 mg. To control nightmares or other kinds of bad dreams 1-2 mg suffices.

I take Prazosin and have found it to be extremely helpful. My bad dreams now only occur 1 or at most 2 times a month.

Hoping that you can find some relaxation from the bad dreams!
