Totally agree Anthony and you have summed it up well.

I can't stand people who try to force their opinion on others, both these parties do that and both think they are right.

I'm just up to the part where Will has met up with Iorik and they are off to rescue Lyra. An exciting read.

I read this series some years ago. I found the part when Will and Lyra had to separate for ever really moving. It was a very selfless act, Lyra becomes very strong as the books move through the series.

I really love the references to string theory. At least, I read them as being applicable to basic string theory.
