Relationship His Family

So my boyfriend , who suffers from PTSD, and I have been working on our relationship after all that happened back in January. We are still together, still dating, in fact he spent last weekend over at my house while he was back in the state for drill (he is in the reserves).

Every week, his brother asks if my boyfriend are "finished". Its making me start to wonder if his family is even aware we are still together. If they don't, should that bother me? I don't care for his parents after finding out that they abused him as a child, so not seeing them again wouldn't hurt my feelings any. But I don't want to be a secret, either.

If you and he are trying together to make a 'go' of your relationship and you and he are comfortable with it then, what the heck ! Your relationship with each other is just that, 'Your' business and none of theirs.

If you are happy with how your relationship is progressing and you and he are working at making it a loving more long term thing then it really is none of his brothers business and certainly not any of his parents judging by what you have posted on this thread.

It is not keeping secrets as you and he are both adults ( I presume :) )

As a sufferer I have come to realise that there are times when I just have to do what is right for me and not worry about how my decisions affect others. There are times and situations that I have to be in control and I would suggest that this is one of those times when you and your boyfriend really should pardon the corny phrase .... 'follow your hearts'

You are absolutely correct. We are making our relationship work for us. It doesn't and should not involve anyone but us :)
