Hot Air Ballooning

We went hot air ballooning and it was awesome!

I am scared of heights and for my birthday (as a surprise) Anthony organised to take me on a hot air balloon ride over Melbourne. It was going to be his platform to propose :smile:. I was so excited but also terrified...what an adrenaline rush.

To all those who are frightened of heights I will say that it was the least scary of any "high" things I have done as the ride is so smooth you don't realise you are even in the air until you look around you.

I've attached a picture to share. Anthony and I are in the rear left hand corner of the basket.

Beautiful picture! We live very near an area that many hot air balloon companies use as a lift off point for sunrise flights. When this happens, if we're outside (usually collecting the morning paper) at just the right time we can see dozens of hot air balloons floating above our house. My little girl loves it so much that I've even tossed her in the car a couple of times and gone balloon chasing with her so that she could also see them land. This is a favorite activity of hers. I'll take her on a balloon ride someday but she's not quite old enough yet.

Wow, you two are so lucky. I'm not sure there is even a place that would have hot air balloons that one can ride where I live.

Love to watch them but no way could I ride in one without the aid of a bag for the offending second coming of breakfast! LOL!!!!! Would ruin everyone eles's ride.

How funny! I own and operate a giclee print studio and frame shop and my most recent project was to sponsor and print the photos for all the participants of our 1st annual hot air balloon festival in Mt. Vernon, Oregon! last weekend!!! LOL
I didn't get to go because I was home ill. bleh... dang it!
