General Hotline?

Does anyone know of a national hotline I can call for someone to talk to? In my area we have a program where you can call a hotline for all kinds of assistance, on the phone counseling, and even homelessness. The problem is it's run by the agency I work for. It's all the supervisors that run the phones, all day and night. That's part of the issue I have with local counselors and programs as well. It's coworkers and colleagues that run them and my clients that attend. I'm in a really bad place and I really don't know what to do.

What kind of hotline? What do you need to talk about? I can see why it would be pretty hard to use the local one, where it's all people you know and who know you!

There's a text hotline called Crisis Text Line, it won't let me post links here unfortunately, but if you google Crisis Text Line it should come up.

The national suicide prevention hotline in the US is 1-800-273-TALK

It is also tied into the national hope line.

The number routes you to a crisis center in your area, but it has to be one that is part of the national network. So unless that's your situation, it will work for you. They are there for anyone having strong emotional crisis, not just people feeling suicidal.
