Housing Hunts On Craigslist - Every Write A Wanted Post?

Finding the housing hunt scary and daunting. Resources or the lack there of leave me scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Curious about attempts to find a place using the "Wanted" post area. Never did the social media dating or anything like that. How to represent yourself and not end up in a bad situation or dealing with sickos.

If you have tried this what worked for you and recommendations appreciated about wording etc. appreciated, and your outcome of trying this approach.

I've never placed an ad, but I did, once, find housing by answering someone else's ad. I guess I got lucky. She was annoying but not dangerous. We had basically nothing in common, other than we were each willing to let the other live their own life. We shared an apartment for a school year and I took care of her dogs for her the following summer while she was out of town. Wasn't a bad situation at all.

All I can suggest is that you be honest about your own needs and limitations, have a clear idea of what will and won't work, find out the same for the other party.... And then go with your gut? (Good luck!)

Issue for many rentals is DOG. Either none, or under 20 lbs. Some of this is due to insurance regulations. Dog is non-negotiable.
Where I live is near naval bases operations. Frat house and young ladies please apply, even free rent offered for domestic assistance.;):cautious::eek::eek:

I placed an ad to rehome my sister's cat I took in. I made sure the adoption fee was right then worded everything to the point, very not "wordy" about stuff and with a few pictures.

We met in a public place and my neighbor knew she was coming over to see him and knew where i was going when i went to do a home check and made sure she knew that. If you must be alone and cant take someone (though id take someone if you could, namely a big guy someone if possible) then make sure others know where you are going and some how bring something about it up like "oh, im just going to let my friend know im just going here and will be right back, hold on". Or something else thats dumb but lets them know 'someone knows you are going to be here with me'. Just common sense saftey.

I also have a stun gun, that always helps. Be careful on craigs list. Just use all the saftey precausions you can.

I posted an ad once on one of the biggest sites. I'm sure everyone knows which one I'm talking about. Anyways, I was looking for housing, cause I needed a bigger place. Someone contacted me, I went and looked at th place. Nice place, I took it. Landlord turned out to be a f*cking weirdo and I moved out 2 months later. You just never know.......
