How Bad Can Ptsd Flashbacks Get?

I'm just wondering, because if they don't put me back on my zyprexa and I have to keep going through withdrawal, it's going to get bad. I'm already throwing up and wetting myself whilst I believe I am actually being abused again, only for it to end, me to clean up the mess, and it to start again. Today I'm getting a break. Flashbacks have waned and it's almost 3 am instead of almost 6 am like the rest of the week. What do I have to look forward to?

It should go out of your system pretty quickly according to what I have been told, but everyone's body is different. Though you can get some bounceback for a few weeks.

Have you rung your medical practitioner to alert them to what is going on?

Tomorrow, after I take my son to school, I'm going to my therapist's office. I'll sit in her office all day...well, until my appointment with the doc, and then I'll go back to my therapist's office.

My doc had me go off Zyprexa slowly in decreasing increments every two weeks. It wasn't too rough that way. I hope you are not going cold turkey. I'm glad you are seeing doc.

It's cold turkey. The doctor said, "Zyprexa isn't working for you anymore. I'm going to put you on Seroquel." ignoring that I'd had a bad reaction to Seroquel in the past and that I'd been on Zyprexa for five years. My body literally doesn't know how to relax without it in my system. I'm now going to a new doctor to, hopefully, get back on Zyprexa. They can wean me off if they want to, but this is just not a viable option, the way it's happening now.

I'm sorry to hear you are going through such a tough time. It sounds really scary and distressing. I am glad to hear you say you are going to a new doctor next. Especially since they knew you had a bad reaction to Seroquel, but still wants to put you back on it.

My doctor wanted me to wean off a couple of meds to flush my system and start again. I decided to go cold turkey, I mean if there not working, why take them at all.

It took almost a month to recover (although they were different meds than Zyprexa). So, it depends on the person, the meds, how long you have been taking the meds, etc.

I hope it doesn't take you as long and I would go to a different doctor. No doctor should tell you to cold turkey a psych med. You should always be weaned off.
