How Do You Know If You Pushed Someone Away Rather Than Help Them Realise Their Full Potential

Look this might sound weird, but in trying to help someone on this forum I think I might have made them withdraw rather than realise their full potential see how wonderful they are and they deserve so much more out of life.

Good for you for caring enough to help. I think most of us would say there were times we withdrew from those who try to help us. In the end we have to help ourselves find our way out of the darkness. Certainly your efforts are noticed and appreciated. They are fortunate to have your support.

If whatever you do for someone comes from the heart then don't worry. If they have withdrawn its probably down to their issues and not you so don't worry :-)

Don't sweat it. It is highly unlikely you were a minor factor in the withdrawal, never mind a major one. The problem with being on the internet is that we cannot see the environment, and really, we only know what others choose to tell us. Sometimes people just cannot see what you see in them, they may withdraw, but words are never lost. They may not be able to process them in the way we would like them to, but those words are back there in the filing cabinet. And you never know when they will come to life.

Sometimes it is really hard to see the good in ourselves and believe it. It is much easier to believe in the bad things, especially if negative is always on our minds. I think that is with people in general.
