How Do You Know When You're Healed?

I still have trouble standing in line with a clerk especially at grocery stores so I avoid this when it's a male clerk. This is where I saw my attacker after he attacked me. It's a lot better now though.

How do you know when the PTSD is mostly gone? I feel like it is. I have triggers I know but some I'm unaware of, like men walking by my cubicle around December, which is when I started a terrible relationship with a coworker who did that. I finally figured this one out.

I think I'm feeling a lot better.

I am so happy that you are feeling a lot better.

I do not believe there is a cure for PTSD but there is healing and recovery in the future for you as long as you keep working on your own healing and recovery.

Life is hard for a long time sometimes and I believe that good comes to us once we reach a certain point in recovery process.

I am at a good place in my life right now and have more good days than bad ones. I actually feel so much better overall.

There is hope and you are not alone here in the forums.

I don't know if I will ever get to a point where I am fully healED, but I will continue to heal, grow and change. I think that's the most anyone can ask for, as we can't control if we ever truly reach a point of being fully healed. Yes, we can do a lot of things to get there, but at least in my case, my nervous system is pretty much shot, so not a lot of hope for a full recovery on that front. However, all of the other skills I've learned have allowed me to manage those types of symptoms a heck of a lot better.

It sounds like you're on the right path!

I like looking at it as a process. There's room to grow. I don't have to go back to the way I was before, it's better going forward. And I do have a lot of coping skills now like mindfulness. Life may not be easier but it's better. Thanks everyone for your perspectives.

It sounds like you are in that healing zone with maybe a few remnants (i.e. triggers) that you are still trying to shed. Good for you! We are all so different but only you will know when you are fully healed. I suppose it is when you can stand without fear, trust in yourself and others, have a mind free of angst and know that you are safe in this universe.

You are on your way. I believe that nothing is ever permanent. You are stepping into that zone of healing. You are coming back to your authentic self that has no fear.

Keep the faith and the momentum toward your full recovery. Blessings your way! Rising.
