Relationship How long have you (sufferer) ignored a (non-living-together) partner?

Could any sufferers say how long they ignored a guy/girl they were dating? By this I mean whilst they were not living together.

I've just started seeing a girl. Her ex raped and abused her. They were together 4-5 years. This caused her PTSD. She has a restraining order against him.

Two weeks ago she had a family court case because he wants joint custody of their child. She would have been sat a few feet opposite him for the first time in 6-18 months.

She was having panic attacks and night tremors in the weeks leading to court. I believe he stalked her on vacation. She also bought two rottweilers and gives accommodation to 2x domestic abuse victims. She never said but I think these actions were partially due to being petrified of him turning up.

We had a really nice phone conversation hours before court. I then messaged the day after court but no reply. I tried a couple more times. She has now been silent for 9 days.

I assume facing him in person for the first time in a small room has affected her and she's isolating. However, I'm still new to PTSD and it's a convenient excuse for me to tell myself because I really like her and hope we speak again.

Long enough we broke up by default. In most cases, never seeing/speaking to them, ever again.

During my own custody battle? I cut contact with durn near everyone, friends/family, for 2-3 years. People were simply too complicated, too difficult, too painful, too exhausting.

But that’s me. And it’s little to no indication of where your girl’s head & heart are at.
