Just curious!

This is for any type of therapy you think is relevant to your PTSD recovery. Physical, EMDR, behavioral, etc.

Feel free to tell us what types if you want! Or why you go as frequently or infrequently as you do :)

This will be for you right now. You'll be able to change your answers! You can also pick two options for if you alternate or something :)

It really depends where you are, in the UK and you use the NHS, you don't get any say in it, along with how long your in therapy. Basically yourntoldhow often and for how low, if you want that to be different, then tough - you can pay privately and choose to suit yourself, otherwise, it's all down to what the NHS decides for you

I have physical therapy twice a week and therapy session twice a week. The physical therapy forced me to be more social and I actually learned to laugh again while in the care of the PT. The psych sessions started after my coping skills went haywire and I had and acted out my first flashback in front of a doctor. Because of intense embarrassment and panic over the event, I sought mental health help. Thus I am a twice-a-weeker.

I see mine every couple of weeks now, sometimes I need closer support and sometimes I don't see her for...
Same here.

Every 2 weeks or occasionally closer if I need extra support.

I'm doing cbt and I often find that sessions can be really intense and I need 2 weeks before I'm "ready" to go back.

I guess it also depends on what else is happening in everyday life. I don't handle trauma related surprises very well. Sometimes I have to throw in an extra session for support.

When I'm with my awesome T back home, I go to regular therapy once a week, and once a week I go to his Ki-Aikido class as part of my therapy. I would love to be able to add a sports massage once a week to that schedule, but we'll see how finances shape up when I go back. Right now, in the rural town I'm currently working in, I go to therapy once every other week, and Ki-Aikido in the Big City once a month. Not nearly enough, and I find myself regressing quite a bit, so the once-a-week schedule is best for me to make progress with. Looking forward to making that happen again!

Once a week, minus holidays. I do both emdr and other/talk with the same therapist. She leaves it up to me with a strong suggestion at times that we should or shouldn’t do emdr based on what’s going on with me at the time. I believe her approach is very relational and kind.

I used to go every other week when I first started therapy then once a month after I felt I had skills needed to handle triggering, flashbacks, etc. The T allows me to text her and request an appointment as needed as I am usually doing well.

Every 2 weeks, give or take. It used to kill me that it wasn't more frequent but I'm now realizing the positives are that I am forced to develop my own coping skills instead of relying on my T...including activities like TS yoga, Pilates, self-care stuff like treating myself to a meal or a pot of tea out or a massage or even curling up in bed and watching Netflix. I really struggle with relaxation. The space between sessions gives me time to recover too - I dissociate a lot in session which leaves me shattered but I have a demanding work role so I need to recover and function at a high level. This way I can time it so I have at least a day or two recovery time before going back to work.
