How To Deal With Workplace Hostility

Still recovering from one of these situations of worplace bullies. I think it does have to do with the upper management not wanting to do anything for a varity of reasons. Spent another day in bed. But I did clean the litter box! I not answering my cell phone. I just feel so tired. I quit my job , but can't stop thinking about the person who replaced me. I keep picturing them handeling people better than me.

I had to leave my last job (which I loved) because my supervisor targeted me as the person to whip on and some of the other employees on my team took her lead and did the same. It definitely has a lot to do with upper management. If they are a bunch of incompetent, petty idiots, then the workplace is just miserable. Worst part is, even though there are laws against upper management retaliating against an employee for filing a complaint against them, that doesn't stop them from retaliating anyway. The employee is often out of a job, and the supervisor gets a slap on the wrist if anything at all. This is why everyone needs to be in a freaking union.

I have had a string of very difficult work situations. I just keep trying. I read a book a long long time ago... about 10 things we knew before we were born but forgot. "We repeat lessons til they are learned" was one of them (or something like that). So rather than traumatize myself I just see an uncomfortable and even tremendously bad work enviornment as an opportunity to repeat the lesson and learn it. (makes sense to me in some way)

I have never had to deal with workplace bullying, until this week. I will have to try to talk to my boss about it when she returns. I am not sure how I will deal with it. When three people gang up on you to be rude and do and say everything to make you feel like you are worthless and hated...it is such a horrible feeling. I hope my boss can fix it, if not I just don't know what I will do. I pride myself so much on being able to do my job well.

I agree with Ptsd sufferer. The book on bullies by Tim Fields is the best resourse on the subject. It takes time to recover from workplace bullying. I highly recommend getting the book. It has been invaluable to me. I have helped others with it too. Wishing you the best.
