This thread reminds me of my late mother-in-law. She said she believed in the here-after because every time she walked into a room, she'd be wondering what she was here after. She was quite the character.
Distant memories randomly come and go, depending on what vibrations I'm emitting and soaking up. If I'm marinating in pain from the past, I'll have lots more painful ones arrive. Same if I'm remembering the happy occasions, etc.
I utilize dry erase boards to remember things I need to do from day to day - and note pads. The big dry erase board is in the kitchen.
I also write on the bathroom mirrors with the dry erase markers - you can re-purpose old picture frames into dry erase boards very easily, too, by placing a solid color piece of paper in it.
I keep a note pad handy in each room, in my car, and in my bag, along with a good supply of functioning pens and sharpened pencils.
I just recently purchased a digital voice recorder to add to my arsenal of helping me remember stuff, especially at appointments, as well as recording some of my favortie nature sounds and such, once I figure out how it works.
