He left 5 days ago. Last night was the first time we talked for more than 10 minutes, and he told me the doctor has evaluated him and is going to do a 12 session program with him. 3 times a week, for 4 weeks (which has not started yet).

If you've done anything like this, what was your experience? Did it help? It's really hard on me and the kids because we've been left behind non stop our entire marriage, and now this time is actually harder than any of the deployments, somehow. I was reading emails from his first deployment, and in awe of how much he really had changed. I'm talking night and day. He was so loving, and thoughtful.. And now he's just existing.

I'm hoping when he comes home, he comes home the man I fell in love with. I don't expect everything to be 100% better, but our family has been through so much, and we really need for this to work. I know it's going to be there the rest of his life, but can we be ok after this?

Is he in treatment for his PTSD? My husband spend nearly 9 month in a clinic to get treatment. If he wants it, he can learn to handle it. It will never disappear, but it can get a lot better!
