Well, he's up and about and starting to P! :) Still needs some dialysis for awhile, but mucch better. Eating solid food (lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks!), walking with a walker, coming home soon. He realizes he almost died and is so glad to be alive! So now we just need the sleepy kidney to start really working, they say its had an infection and alot of stress on it, so its taking a bit longer.
thanks for all your kind words and thoughts, I'm kind of a basket case (its all hitting me yesterday/today), very tired and burnt out from the stress. so I'm taking today to stay home and rest and relax, he may be coming home this weekend and will still need my help alot.
Brenda

Brenda, that's great news! I hope things continue to improve for him quickly, and it's good to hear you are able to get some much needed rest. Sending healing good thoughts, Curiouser

Hi all = well hubby is home and his new kidney is starting to work, never so happy to see the yellow stuff! So grateful to all the folks at the hospital and of course the wonderful person who donated the kidney (a true gift of life). He came close to the edge when he was in ICU, but he's doing wonderfully now, making real progress. whew, what a relief! I slept all day yesterday, still having to drive him to renal clinic and dialysis almost everyday, so its tiring, but its getting easier.
thanks again,
Brenda

That's fabulous news Brenda. I'm so pleased to hear he is doing well... and you too. Grab all the rest you can. It takes a lot of energy to look after someone, so you need to look after yourself too. Great news. I hope he and you continue to go from strength to strength.

All the best to you

Dear Brenda, I'm so happy for you both!

There may be an organization that offers volunteer driving services to take some burden off of you, I hope you get wonderful rest!

Such great news!

I love logging in here and seeing something this lovely. I'll BET it's tiring, but probably the same sort as maybe dealing with a new baby-it's so joyful you don't care! having said that, hope there is something like what Junebug mentioned to perhaps take the edge off for you a bit.

Thanks much for sharing this news-delightful to read for the morning! Please do continue to let us know all's wel, if there's the time and energy.

All the best!

Anni
