Hi Everyone,
I got fired today from a job I really loved and for people who I really loved working for. I finally found a job that I felt like was my calling.

They told me that I'm too emotional and forget too many details to stay on. I know that I'm in a really rough healing spot right now but working just the couple hours I did was enough to keep me going. It gave me something to look forward to. It was something that my dog and I could enjoy together with all the training and bonding.

Part of me knows that this might be for the better but it hurts like hell right now. I also know I have to take this time to work on me but really need someone to talk to.

I am being treated by a social worker, am taking Zoloft, have an appointment with a psychiatrist, and have joined a trauma yoga support group but don't really have anyone else to talk to.

Wow, it seems like you are handling this very maturely! Recognizing the pain, and yet recognizing that for now you might benefit from the extra time to heal. I am sorry you lost a position that you love, and I hope in time you can find one that suits you even better.

Sorry Meg,

I feel for you. You're working through all this PTSD stuff and now to have this thrown into the mix as well.

Hang in there though. You're stronger than you were before. We are here for you.

Lots of hugs :Hug_emoticon: Beth

HI Meg,

As unfair as it seems to lose your job, if you weren't performing up to par, then they actually had no choice, other than to let you go. I know it sucks, and it's hard to hear, but life is hard at times.....

This may be a really good time, for you to really focus on healing....Take the time and rest when you need to. This is a journey of a thousands *baby* steps, and it will take time to finish all of those steps.....

You might also want to look into finding a good trauma therapist to aide you on this journey.

Best wishes...

Hi Meg,

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. But perhaps it will offer you the opportunity to spend some more time on healing. I find that whenever I stop work I fall apart (initially) as I become more connected to myself again.

When you are ready - perhaps you could do some voluntary work to keep you hand in and work out what you can tolerate? When I was off work this was a helpful strategy as it meant that I could *rehearse* a back to work scenario.

Best wishes, my thoughts are with you.

Hello Meg,

I don't get to sign on as much as I like these so I don't know your story, but I see that your in MA like me. Have you tried other groups? I found the REACH organization very supportive. A woman's discussion group can be most helpful in setting goals, maintaining committments and general networking.

Don't give up on your dreams!

Hi Clare, found your post on an old thread re REACH organization. It is on this site, or a separate entity? newbie
