Prairie Dog

New Here
My husband suffers from PTSD and has done so for who knows how long. He was injured overseas during a deployment. Has done a second tour since then. This year has been a really rough one. We have gone through several crisis's since Jan. I have had a hard time finding revelant info on it. No where up to a little while ago did I find anywhere or anyone, that that could tell me what to expect when living with it. They all told the symptoms but not the reality of it. I see here that I am not alone. I have felt so scared and alone for so long.

As a sufferer, it is really good to have carers on the forum, and welcome.

This is a good place to get your feelings heard, as the sufferer you are with is not likely to be able to help you with that at times. You have a supportive outlet here.

Plus, it is good for me to read what we can put you guys through sometimes. Helps me to be diligent with my committment to my healing.
Thank you for being here.

Prairie Dog, my heart goes out to you. I understand what you are going through. This year has been terribly rough for us, too. My husband is currently serving his second tour and we are only half way through the 15 month deployment. Is your husband being treated for his PTSD? Mine is not and at this point he is completely disconnected from me and our three kids. This is a very scary place to be in marriage. Hang in there, I'm sure on some level your husband truly appreciates your support. It's tough when we don't get any confirmation of that, though. My husband is just not capable of showing love at all right now. I miss the man he used to be.

Hi. I hope you're looking through the carers posts. I thnk you'll find a lot of support there.
