Op, Dianne and IvyMillie... uff. I have the feeling that there's two things going on and NOT one.
Of Dianne, You're at my parents' age. So is Ivy. My dad is Viet Nam. My Brother was Iraq I. My grandfathers, many cousins and other family going back all the way past William Wallace are in wars. ;)
I was in a war, but I started out pulling the trigger of a camera before I pulled the trigger on a live human.
Hollywood just doesn't prepare you and ... then you AGE and you have OTHER shit to deal with.... on TOP of PTSD. Alzheimers, Dementia, undiagnosed issues... .. AND PTSD.
Sometimes, when a dog is scratching, we think it may have fleas. MAYBE it has ticks. The third solution is that it has ticks AND fleas.
Dianne, I think your father has ticks AND fleas. PTSD is one of the bugs.

LOL! I wrote an essay of an answer and then deleted. Nothing I could say would make the point: Psychiatrists do pills. Therapists do feelings. Military does lead in the air.. and nobody is talking to each other. Everyone thinks that the OTHER person doesn't understand.
