So what I really wanted to post about was the ukulele, but meeting my insurance deductible is kinda a big deal LOL

For months I've been debating over whether or not I should take up piano again. I used to play when I was a child...I wanted to play Chopin, my parents wanted me to play hymns - long story short, I finally quit playing altogether when I was a teenager. This was very painful for me, as music was one of the only things that I had to ease the constant stress.

After much consideration, I decided to take up an entirely new instrument. I was worried that I might not be able to learn anymore...last year I thought I might even be going senile! But as therapy progresses and the flashbacks ease, I'm finding that my thinking abilities are GREATLY improving, and I am so thankful!

I chose the ukulele because I've never seen anyone playing one that wasn't happy and smiling...and I love how the sound of it makes me feel. :-)

My fingers are sore but I'm learning quickly, and I can't even pick it up without smiling. I can't believe I went so long without playing music. It feels good. I feel good. It feels like another void is being filled.

Ooh, congrats! When I saw the title the first thing that came to mind was how often a ukulele is accompanied by big smiles. Hope you have lots of fun learning to play.
