I Miss Group Chat

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I really miss the old chat room where we could talk to more than one person at a time.

You know BC, I do too. I must confess that I haven't been able to figure out the new system and although the old way was "hit and miss" I kind of enjoyed it. Maybe it's an "age" thing.

Even though I was not there very often, I miss it also. People like us with ptsd just don't handle chnge well

I miss it too.....The exchange and sharing of opinions, information, laughter and group support was great ! And when you felt like talking, vent or just laughing, there was always someone there who would listen ! In time of need someone was always there :)

The new "one on one" chat, only with people on your friend's list, doesn't always work, since they are not always online when you are. The old chat version enabled you to make new friends !

And for many here that are shy or "afraid" of friendships it was an easy way of communicating with others.

I know of many forums where they have both....chatrooms and "one on one" chat like we have here now.

Yes, it is true, in the last months the chatroom wasn't as full as when it started......but it was there, none the less....we knew and had the choice of going if we wanted.

I agree. I had just started joining in the fun when ta da it was gone. Wish we had the old chat room back too! Someone otta start a poll.

Well I think it was my stupid post of "where did my live chat friends go" that sort of started the whole new chat thing. If so I apologize. I miss the old chat as well but not so much because I noticed my friends don't really come in anymore anyway. I have tried to say hello to each of my friends using the new IM system but even then alot of times there is no response.

I miss it too especially at times like this when I can't sleep!

It was very reassuring to know I didn't have to be alone during my most challenging moments.

Not meaning to rain on anyone's parade; however, the poll was pretty unanimous as to the Facebook style of chat.
I think its just a matter of people setting their new chat system to available if they do want to chat. Or PM them to tell them they want to chat.

I have to agree Jimmy.......I never liked the old chat, because it was too fast, too many people, too much going on.....

I up for trying the new one. We get used to the old ways though and they are hard to give up. I think I need to try it before passing a final judgement on it.

Jimmy, can you give us oldsters a point in the right direction on how to get it up and going? I think I need a tutorial : ) I keep adding friends that I used to talk with in the old room to my list but haven't figured out how to get to the next step. Computers make me feel very antiquated sometimes. Anthony probably has a "how to" article somewhere and I just can't find it. Any one know?

The new system is fine - I would just like to chat with more than one person at a time (I enjoy group chat). Is that an option?

Just a thought: If the majority voted for this why aren't they using it?
