Something like that.
I'm not looking for a collector's piece. I want it to help create a proper scale for the boat I'm making.for scale.
Let me explain-
You see, since I was a kid I wanted my own ship. Well, I have worked my arse off for as long as I can remember, and now that I'm "maxed out" on the disabilities I can tolerate (herniated disks through out my neck and my back, three traumatic brain injuries and both knees screwed up), now that I have been declared by the state as "permanently/totally disabled", I'm gonna build the boat I wanted.
I was in boy scouts and my scoutmaster had a Coleman Scanoe. Not a "canoe", but a "scanoe". Google it and look at the hull design. I loved the boat, it has a great hull design, and now I want to make my own ship out of the boat I now have. I( got one of the scanoes from Craig's List back when I had the money.
So when I talk about it, people think I've been smoking the wrong batch of weed when I tell them I'm gonna turn a 16' boat into a 136' to 320' ship....
But if you've ever done "scratch builds" before, you know what I'm talking about.
And that is why I want to get a figurine. I *think* it's a 12" doll. I dunno. I have considered doing a now-regular sized GI Joe, but that's 3-1/4" IIRC. 12", roughly equaling 6' brings the boat/ship scale to 96'. I might adjust it to 5'3", which is my height, making it 84'. Using the modern GI Joe, it changes it to 354'.
Did I lose ya yet?
ETA: I Googled it for ya- pics are at
