Oh yes, I think it is a big part. I always thought that anxiety was what you feel when your name gets called in traffic court. I was prescribed Buspirone to help modulate my dysregulated emotions and it has really helped me do things socially that were difficult before. I can now go to events which is a big deal but a bigger deal is that I can go alone when I don’t know anyone and do fine. I have really worked at being more social and I am enjoying the results. For me the biggest things are to be authentic and make eye contact. Ask the other person about their life and interests. Having a little dog. (Booty magnet) like LuLu really helps just saying. I now seek out social situations and I just have a good time being me.

That is the amazing thing about this website. We all come from different cultures and backgrounds but the impact of PTSD transcends those artificial divisions and here we are all speaking as human beings who suffered trauma. We all get each other. It is amazing. Also, for me, when I was first diagnosed myptsd was the source of a tremendous amount of information and also validation. Stuff happened to me, I developed ways of dealing with it that are not the most productive ways for adult life, I learned that others were experiencing exactly the same things. Thus I was not totally insane or alone. The. People hear before me hhave laid out a pretty good guide to living with PTSD. That is amazing, I think I better make another donation now that I am thinking about it.
