Job Interview At 3pm Today!

Eeeeeeekkkkk!:eek::eek:

I have an interview for a job in a new craft store today at 3pm. I am terrified!!!

Although I have a complex form of PTSD (multi trauma) my biggest trigger is work. I was blamed for the death of a patient when I was nursing - which I was innocent of. The nursing sister bullied me and basically tore me apart until there was nothing left.

Over the years I have avoided work because the fear was so great. I had a job a few years ago but left after just a week because I was so badly triggered and dissociated.

I am worried that this will happen again so I am needing support folks.

If I can get through this it will be a wonderful victory over my PTSD. I know I can do the job and have applied for it so that I get face my biggest fear.

This afternoon is going to be difficult. I have my essential oils and the knowledge that people are thinking of me and supporting me. I hope I don't cry, it's what I usually do when I am stressed.

I am taking Citalopram, Propranolol and Diazepam to control the anxiety, just to get me over the interview.

So here goes...

I'm back and I think it went well.

There were 2 other ladies (both young), one had retail experience and one was a watercolour artist. Neither had crafting experience but they were really nice and we were interviewed together. We all gave similar answers to the questions and the guy interviewing seemed pleased. We even got to sit and make a card each!

I hardly felt nervous at all but was concious of the 'verbal diarrhea' I get when I am nervous.

I find out of I have the job on the weekend, so not long to wait. It is a new company so an exciting time to join. I am nervous about holding down a job, I don't want to let others or myself down. If I can get through the first few weeks I think I will be OK. I won't start until mid to late October.

Thanks for the support folks, it means a great deal.

Hi Cath, just read your post. Very pleased that the interview went well for you. I do hope you get the job, like KP said your cards are amazing. The one you sent me is still sitting in a prominent position in my lounge room.

Sound like a great idea working in a Craft Shop, for many reasons of course. It's just what you need to build your self confidence. Right up your alley and the money would come in handy. You would be doing what you like best, being a talented craft person. Well done for taking this step. Thinking of you and wishing you the very best.

@KP the nut Thank you so much for all your love and support and for believing in me - it truly means the world to me.

@Loloma Thanks for the encouragement hun, it amazes me how someone can encourage me who id thousands of miles away. Bless you.

@Sarah542 Thank you for posting, I will let you know. x

The 'boss' said he would let me know at the weekend. I am nervous but also so excited - it feels so right. I will be very disappointed if I don't get the job after putting in so much effort. Mind you, if I don't get the job it will be because I am too good lol!  :whistling:
