With my own history of mental illness , including PTSD, I studied psychology and Clinical Nutrition. I am a Nutritional Psychotherapist and a retired Probation and Parole Officer and specialized in the rehabilitation of offenders who committed offences with a co-morbid condition of mood disorders, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, depression, anxiety attacks, OCD, PTSD, impulsive violence, gambling addiction, sex offenders and the whole gamut of personality disorders.

I am specially interested in the relationship between specific nutritional metabolic disorders and human behaviour. My approach is that I teach these skills based on a combination of Nutritional Therapy and Psychotherapy to clients in group therapy sessions. This enables them to do their own psycho-nutritional therapy and change their life for the better.

Welcome Jurriaan.

I am deleting some of your introduction as it is bordering on self promotion even though your attention may not be so.

Please refresh yourself with the forum rules [DLMURL]https://www.ptsdforum.org/c/pages/ptsd-forum-rules/[/DLMURL] as stating what book you wrote is advertising it and by referring to the Association you founded you are inadvertently promoting it.

Also, stating your interests as you have and then your qualifications suggests your intent is to encourage other members to your methodology. Please be wary of not crossing the line to be self promoting thank you.

If I am not allowed to help people, the way I see fit I am not interested in participating this forum. I am a retired nutritional psychotherapist, quite familiar with the treatment of mood disorders. Where I differ from most other therapists is that I embrace an alternative approach to the drugs and/or talk therapy approach. I am an alternative to the commercial aspects of the mental health industry, depending on the monopolistic sale of drugs and useless lengthy talk therapy. I believe that people who are familiar with te nutritional aspects of mood disorders can help themselves. This might not fit well with people who believe with a religious fervour, that "it is all in the mind". Hence the prejudice and ad hominem arguments here. I am here strictly in a voluntary capacity. I am not selling anything. If the monitors do like to hear about alternative approaches to treatment of mood disorders, please let me know.

I do not want to waste my time in this forum.
