K's Choice, Cocoon Crash, which blends seamlessly from one of the others I've posted. I am recording these drunk. So I can't remember the titles.

You have a beautiful voice! So proud to be attending this concert and especially dig your third tune. Thanks for the happy up note to my day!

I am on a roll with K's Choice. They basically developed my voice, though. I've been listening to them since I was 10 or 11 or so.

This song is so accurate it hurts right now: "Tired" from Almost Happy. I get a phone call in the last seconds--oops! Also, I literally just played this song after not hearing it for YEARS. It just popped into my head. I do okay at the lyrics though. Muscle memory, etcetera.

I mentioned my best friend in another post here. This is our song. Sad but true. Streetlight Manifesto, "A Better Place, A Better Time," from Everything Goes Numb, in two parts due to length. (I love you, Sam...)

Love K's lyrics and your voice!

Street manifesto is very cool. Intense wording with an up beat. Never really listened to Ska-punk before, thanks for the opportunity. Keep on singing, love this!

All recorded drunk....

K's Choice "Almost Happy" from Almost Happy:

Here's a super fun and super accurate one for me from K's Choice called "I Smoke a Lot." As Sarah Bettens (lead vocalist/songwriter) put it, she was smoking "like a heretic" when she wrote it. Special cigarette-lighting intro by Simon. :D It's a little too deep for me, but oh well!

PS about the one above, I didn't listen to it or read the lyrics beforehand, so I choke a couple times. It has, again, been many years. At least 4-5. >.<

Streetlight Manifesto's "Keasby Nights," from Keasby Nights, which I ALWAYS play while passing through Keasby in NJ. Streetlight is from my town. Represent! etc.

Streetlight's "Mephisto's Cafe" from Somewhere in the Between: (my phone cuts out for a minute for a low battery warning--whoops)

Hungover singing time... two alcohol-related songs first.

Less Than Jake's "The Science of Selling Yourself Short" aka Simon's Teenage Theme Song:

PS I am convinced that song is designed to destroy your voice. >.<

Mad Caddies "Drinking for Eleven"

Okay... time to wake myself up with some Girls with Cellos Being Awesome.

Rasputina, "High on Life." My voice gets suuuuper tired being in her register. I take a one-verse break to drop to a lower one. Also I'm dedicating the first two stanzas of this to my girl @FridayJones. Also YES these following songs by Rasputina are all cellos and percussion only.

Rasputina, "Saline the Salt Lake Queen"

This is Tool's "46 and 2," from Lateralus. I cut out the minute-long instrumental introduction to fit the time limit:

This is actually just the 5min smack dab in the middle of a 9 minute song, Tool's "Parabol" and "Parabola." A professor told me that "parabola" can be loosely translated to mean "to throw beyond." It reminds me that life is a gift I should hold onto while I still have it.

@Simply Simon :hug: I think these are the times where we learn to free our souls and in doing so, experience a form of closeness to our higher power that intermingles in our hearts. I found many a Zen like moment where the lyrics, notes, rythmn and melody captured my essence in time.

I could not have loved life as much as I have without the arts. Your expression gives meaning to our dance on Earth. Never stop.:whistling:
