Hi @Faolán and welcome to the forum :)

Yes, I am in Scotland too. Surprisingly for such a small nation there is a good understanding of PTSD here and I know a lot of training is available to therapists who are interested. I am glad you are also seeing one of the good ones!

edited to add; Are you a Gaelic speaker ? Just wondered from the name.

@Faolán Welcome to the forum!

One of the best things about this forum is that you among people who really do understand. I hope you find this site beneficial to your healing.

Hey @Faolán, welcome to the forum. I think it is great that you were able to communicate your feelings with your partner. That's so hard to do!!!

I hope you find the support you need here

:)

Thanks again for the warm welcome and sorry for my long silence and not replying. I felt that I needed to hide for a while.

Would you feel comfortable with him attending one of your sessions with ur t and then working on some strategies? Do u think he would want to? We did that and I felt it really helped

I'm glad it helped for you and that things are going better with your partner now. My T doesn't offer couple sessions when he already treats one of the partners, but he recommended seeing someone else for a few couple sessions. Maybe I'm brave enough one day to do this, but since we are in a long distance relationship that's also not really possible at the moment.

@Lucycat Nice to meet someone else from Scotland on here :). Good to hear that so much training is available to therapists about PTSD over here. I'm still pretty new to this whole therapy process, and I'm glad I made a good choice to begin with.
I'm not a Gaelic speaker unfortunately, but I do love the culture and because I'm a huge fan of dogs and wolves, I thought the name fits (it means "little wolf" for those who don't know Gaelic :)).
