@MesaRock: for me justice includes revenge. If the state locks someone up, that also carries an element of revenge and ensures that victims do not need to beat up the perpetrator themselves. Although that last activity was actually what I was dreaming about. I am glad I no longer think of revenge or justice - even if you dream of beating up the person that has abused you, you're still thinkng of that person, and for me that was not a good thing.
I think it would be hard to get justice for your traumas. My abuser spent time in jail and saw his career ruined, so technically I have all the revenge or justice I need. But somehow that did not ease my mind. I need to make him irrelevant for me. Which is hard but I feel I'm getting somewhere since I'm doing EMDR.
