Last movie or tv series you watched?

All on netflix...a couple episodes of Goop, a movie called Imagine That, another movie called Love Jacked, and some episodes of Good Girls. My viewing habits are like Rover...they be roamin' all over.

Well, I was channel flipping last night between a basketball game(we won! :)) and "Criminal Minds." Sorry to see that show go. I was watching "This Is Us" on Tuesday and am really sorry that show is wrapping up as well. (Great story, wonderful actors!)

We tried to watch Joker and couldn't watch the whole thing. It was awful. I cant believe he got the Academy Award for best actor for this role. It was dark, violent and basically disgusting. Heath Ledger was way better!!

We finished season 5 of Vikings. Awesome!

Haven't seen any of the Joker movies, @LuckiLee , but I love me some Joaquin Pheonix. Anyone who so openly speaks up for the disgusting victimization of animals, who can't speak for themselves, that most simply ignore and pay others to mistreat for them is award winning off screen, in my opinion, even if their on screen roles suck. lol

I think Heath spoke up to try to protect whales when he was still in this existence, if I remember correctly. I always thought that Joker character was really creepy anyway, just from the pics and such. Not sure I could sit through the movie.

I recently peeked into to the supposed story book scene via the series on netflix called Once Upon a Time. Meh. It's okay.

About to dive into a documentary on you tube called Resonance: Beings of Frequency. I'm fascinated by the electromagnetic frequencies that we are exposed to daily and how they interact with our bodies and such. I tend to feel the effects rather strongly at times.

Often times the invisible stuff can be the most profound in many ways. What we often simply view as progress can create the most distress. Imagine that. Us humans are getting more and efficient at outsmarting ourselves as we manage to wipe ourselves out in the process.

@Tornadic Thoughts, J and I watched the first couple of seasons of Once Upon a Time. We liked it but then there were just too many characters and story lines to follow.

I've been watching the series Hell on Wheels. It's kind of slow for J but I'm diggin it. It's about the construction of the US railroads after the Civil War. (And the destruction of the people and the land. ?) It's a fictional story, though I believe it is probably very accurate. I'm intrigued by the female characters. They are extremely strong and courageous. More than the men, in my eyes. ❤?? (My Grandmother (Mom's Mom ?) was born in 1888 and lived to be 100 years old. I was 20 when she passed away and I know the hard life she lived.)

We watched Joker yesterday. From amazon , and I am guessing it was edited for release with not too light a hand? It was not at all what I expected from everything written about it. There was horrid violence but it wasn’t brushed away with comedic lines or as collateral damage as in most action films - I felt the violence was significantly less gratuitous than in many films because it had purpose and was meaningfully awful.
it was terribly, terribly sad and relatable. Not just the Joker, but people who were casually thoughtlessly inconsiderate of him / each other - It was easy to relate to different characters at different times and feel ‘my actions are part of this problem’. And ‘other people have hurt me terribly’ simultaneously.
I also think ambiguity about truth and motivations suggested in the film was - depressingly realistic.

I can see why people have rated it so highly and also why some are scared of it I think. I did not take from it the story of incel behaviour I have read . Not that women are blamed. I did not get that at all. I see how some might stop there but I don’t think the film meant us to.

I think it was very sad. And poignant. I think that’s what has shaken me a little. I didn’t expect such poignancy.

Sadly, I watched U of L lose to Florida State. I have some plans for those tomahawks as there was some poor sportsmanship exhibited by that team! I have never seen Ryan McMahon lose his temper like that. I had to turn on some Led Zeppelin to even complete my viewing. Crying Cardinal tears and sharpening my beak.....

The more I watch Once Upon a Time, the more I dig it. Maybe it's because I was never really exposed to the fairy tale books all that much as a kid, and now I feel like I'm finally catching up, in a roundabout sort of way. lol
