Hey everyone. I recently started posting on myptsd and was invited here. So about me:

Name's Jim and I'm a staff non-commissioned officer in the Marines. I spent time in the Navy and as a police officer too. The majority of my action was with 3rd Bn 1st Marines as a machine gunner. I've got time in Al Anbar Iraq and Helmand Afghanistan. I actually have my first official mental health appointment on Monday, little nervous about that. My wife and co-workers have been telling me there was something really wrong with me for years though.

Thanks guys. I'm not quite sure what to do even. I just read other threads and realize how I'm feeling/acting is "normal" It eases the embarrassment I feel for even admitting to myself I have a problem

That has been my experience as well. I've made a mess of my life and hurt people I love. I can literally think all the bad choices I've made and someone on this site has already written about it. I playfully say to myself "Better check the playbook (this site) before I do anything else crazy".

My wife is holding strong, but I'm about to s**tcan my career right at the 18 year mark. I'm stuck on recruiting duty which exacerbates everything. I need to settle down before I put somebody's punk kid through a window

I too was a Recruiter. Hated it! Two guys from my office are in prison and command relieved for their shenanigans. And the Kid always looked you right in the eye and says "No Sir I've never been arrested". LMAO. Little serial killer, meth selling, not paying child support, bastard.
