I spent a year doing renovations on our house... every time we'd start on a new area, we'd discover some new "fix" the previous owner had done and we'd end up doing twice the expected work. If we hadn't have had a contractor with a great sense of humor and ethics, I wouldn't have survived. But, I now have a house that makes me happy. It was so worth it in the end!! I SOOO feel your pain!! Good luck, keep at it and it will be worth it in the end.

Doing renovations in our home we've discovered a lot of things. Like a bucket under the pipes and people's jammies wrapped around our bathroom pipes. Looking under the floorboards there were a bunch of very old beer cans. And, almost everything nailed in, is nailed with a three inch nail. Just crazy the things you find in an old house. :O_o:

When my parents had some work done on their home, they found that not one single window or door frame was actually square... and there were about fifty mini-bar sized liquor bottles down inside the space of the walls under the insulation all around the house.

We speculate that the two facts are somehow connected. :p

So far so good. Almost all the windows are done now, and the old bathtub is lying in pieces on my lawn. And so far, I've held together. I keep shouting "NO!" at odd intervals, but hopefully the contractors just think I'm shouting at the kids or the dogs.

My daughter commented that the incessant, loud banging noises were starting to get to her, too, so it's not just me.

(((Angel))) Hang in there, it is on its way to being done. I have a strong feeling you are very sick of all of the hassles involved. It will end. There is light at the end of the tunnel for you. It is hell going through it but if it is done right, you will not have to go through this again.

When home remodeling starts to get me down, I watch "The Money Pit". Then I am thankful and the laughter doesn't hurt either.:D

Hang in there. As it has been said before, it will end. The noise gets on my nerves, too. Because I trusted my contractor, I could leave the house and just get some quiet. Good luck!!
