I feel like my first psychologist royally screwed me over by over medicating the f*ck out of me.

Me too. And with my side effects I should never have never been given for so long. I was on so many different medicines in less than 1.5 years.

SSRIs never, ever, again! They seriously mess me up more.

C-PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, OCD, Depression, Dissociation, Seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Known I had PTSD and OCD since teenager. Didn't take a doctor to figure that one out.

Down to Klonopin. New psychiatrist says I can't even try to get off until my life is more stable. Wish I had NEVER been given the drug in first place.

one framework, but a globalized crapload of symptoms.
Well said.

Please be very careful what medicine that they "say" you need. I was on Rispatol for over a year. He kept telling me that I would be on it my whole life. Every time I saw him it was $80 out of my pocket. I was never with him for more then 10 minutes--If that! Just long enough for him to shake my hand and give me my prescription.

Then one day my neurologist told me that I had to check into the hospital for some tests. While I was there, they were able to diagnose my PTSD. She also weaned me off all but one of my meds. Had this not happened, I would have put that other doctors kids thru college!!
Be careful--get a 2nd opinion if your unsure of anything. A doctor should always want you on the least amount of medicine necessary. The meds that I was on, had I stayed on them the rest of my life, could have done some very bad damage to my body.

@katz Thank you. Appreciate advice.

General doc and psychiatrist says I cannot reduce because I had major seizures last time, and ended up hospitalized for seizures. I think I reduced too fast. Plus I'm also in recovering from major illness (unrelated.) Now major depression. Reason told I needed to be more stable before starting reduction.

New psychiatrist does support me getting off Klonopin. Actually doubt he would have put me on it in first place....

I keep hearing this. Is this the normal thing for psychiatrist? I've only seen 2 p-docs, but normally 30 minutes. Sometimes more. They were private practice though.
