I have suffered from PTSD for over ten years. I am a licensed massage therapist specializing in injury work and PTSD. Over the course of my schooling I had discovered that both the body and the brain are different in everyone, while this is a wonderful part of human evolution, at the same time it means that different people respond to different treatments. If it weren't so then we could all have a quick fix of medication. What I had found that worked best for me was a lymphatic massage followed by craino-sacro therapy. My barriers with touch aren't as extreme and I am a little calmer.

Sometimes veterans day is the hardest to face. With the old memories and some old friends wanting to talk about old battles, most days I just want to forget. Didn't sleep much last nite, dreams kept me up, gets that way, luckily I have the love of a amazing and understanding woman.

We have just developed a massage protocol to help with PTSD. The main goals of the protocol are to sedate the nervous system, and to flush the lymphatic system. We tested it on myself and it think it works wonderful, but like all things, everyone responds differently, so if a therapist were to use this tool they would have to listen to their client and if they were not receptive to one form of work then it is most likely time to find another. This one in particular works for me. I had to break through a few touch boundaries to get to it, but in the end it was worth it.
