Couple of days of light treadmill running. Sunday is the waterfront marathon and I am really excited about it.
I have been a bit withdrawn and pre-occupied with preparations but now that it's here I am feeling good and optimistic about it. It's a Boston qualifier and I think my time will be good enough - it's also a fairly fast course so my time should be good as well.
So today I decided to simply spend time with friends and forget about the run entirely.
I generally don't encourage people I know to come out to the race for me - I feel a lot of pressure if anyone suggests it but saying it here feels good. : )
Thank you @Anrish - this will be my last marathon for this year.
I do some lighter, seasonal runs after this like Halloween, Christmas and New Year's runs but they usually are 5k and all fun with lots of social interaction if you want that with the other runners.
The night Halloween runs are cool because a lot of runners dress up and everyone is wearing headlamps lol. From a distance it just looks like a huge amoeba of light moving towards you lol - nice and Halloween-ish.
Today was a real slow 5k to get all the systems onboard.
@City Slicker: How did it go? Thought of you during the day! :)
I'm impressed that you run marathon. ...I don't know how to handle the pressure for the last two years - so I'm too scared to participate in any race.
I went for a ride on my MTB for about 80 min - it was f***ing cold. There's already snow at the uplands close by...and it has rained the last days, so I looked like a monster crawling out of a swamp after my tour. :clown::cool:
