Yeah, I don't see these attacks stopping the election process, it might possibly inspire people to vote which is only a good thing. As @Friday said, we have a very long history of dealing with terrorism, both in terms of security services and civilians finding a way through. It's really not that long ago the IRA were bombing all over the place and while I'm sad a new generation is having to face the fear that comes with these kinds of acts, we're good at recovering and many more attacks are stopped than succeed.

Having watched the uk cope with terror over the years, knowing we don't bow to it, I wonder why they bother.

The only reason I'd asked... was there were a couple of reports askin' about it. Personally I see no reason to delay it myself... but it was a query. One that came out before they suspended campaigning this morning (my time).

They'll suspend campaigning as a mark of respect but they've already started up again. Political organisations are all in purdah because of the elections so everyone needs to behave in terms of how political they can be over the attacks anyway.

We simply don't have the madness over here that happens in the States at election time, "keep calm and carry on" at its very finest.

I just finished listening to a CBC radio call in show regarding the newest London attack. Many of the callers were the usual apologists who feel compelled to voice their opinions at times like this. Muslims who object to the term Islamic terrorists and the regressive left that claims they are disadvantaged youth.

We already have a label that applies to the attackers in London. As soon as they killed the first person they became murderers. Their religion doesn't matter. Whether they were disadvantaged or not does not matter. They are now merely murderers. No better than the man who kills his wife during a bitter divorce or the guy who kills over a drug debt. They deserve the same recognition as other murders; a small section on the second page and then oblivion.

I live in London the whole city is very traumatised and we have found out one of are colleagues was in the epicentre of the attack fortunately she was unharmed but it just brings it home that we all feel it could be any one of us now any time. any were any place

I agree though the country has a long history of this sort of thing it seems if it was not this it would just be something else such is humanity ..I think the one thing that does set it apart a little though is just the sadism of the attack..its like a taste of Baghdad on are doorsteps. But massive thanks to ariana grande for the concert. I believe stongly that love is the antidote to trauma.
